Tarmac Driveway Callington, Cornwall
After carrying out the groundworks for the client’s new double garage we were asked if we would like to provide a quote for resurfacing the driveway.
After our quote was accepted we mobilised one of our 1.9T mini diggers & 3T swivel dumper to assist with the excavation works on this job just outside of Callington, Cornwall.
We supplied and laid aco drainage to one side of the garage due to the gradients along with a gully connecting to a new soak-away system installed by us previously.
Kerbs were laid at the far edge of the driveway to help direct water into the new gully, terram geotextile membrane was laid, importation of type 1 sub base and compacted in place using a roller and wacker plate to provide a firm surface.
Due to the site location (narrow cornish lanes), the lorry carrying the tarmac couldn’t access the site so we had to unload the lorry with one of our mini diggers, placing the tarmac into our 3t dumper and bring it into the site which was fine as we love a challenge at D.Hall Plant Hire & Groundworks.
