Commercial Parking Bays

D Hall Plant Hire & Groundworks completed an eco-friendly parking expansion for South West Ambulance at their St Austell, Cornwall facility. This project expanded parking capacity while maintaining service continuity by closing sections with Heras Fencing so the ambulance station could remain fully operational throughout the work.

The project utilized grasscrete technology to create an environmentally friendly parking solution. The construction sequence included excavating and removing soil from the banking area, installing Terram geotextile membrane, spreading 200mm of type 803 sub-base, and fitting grasscrete gravel grids from GCL Products topped with 14mm granite gravel. This permeable system maintains drainage while supporting vehicle loads, making it ideal for environmental compliance at a medical facility.

The completed work added 8 additional parking spaces using the grasscrete system, with 2 spaces positioned at the rear of the station. All bays were professionally marked with white line painting, bringing the total marked parking to 10 bays. The eco parking solution provides durability and environmental benefits for this critical emergency services facility.
