House Extension Groundworks

D Hall Plant Hire & Groundworks Ltd completed the comprehensive groundworks package for a residential extension project in Pensilva, Liskeard, Cornwall. This project involved removing an existing extension and creating new, improved groundworks for a modern replacement structure.

The work began with demolishing the existing extension and breaking out and removing the old concrete floor. We performed a reduced dig excavation to allow for the new floor make-up, followed by precise setting out and excavation per the architectural plans. The extension foundation was installed and concreted, with a key feature being the internal concrete upstand construction which cleverly avoided the need for expensive underpinning work.

We completed blockwork up to DPC (Damp Proof Course) level and installed essential building systems including a radon sump for ground gas protection, complete drainage infrastructure, and all necessary services. The project culminated with a reinforced concrete floor slab, providing a solid, long-lasting base for the new extension. This comprehensive approach from demolition through final concrete finishing demonstrates our capability in residential groundworks projects throughout Cornwall.
